Inspector Tequila - John Woo's Hard Boiled

Gotta find a use for my gas can head.... so this is the end result.

Time flies & i think this year marks the 20th anniversary of John Woo's high octane cinematic bullet fest 'Hard Boiled' starring Chow Yuen Fatt, Tony Leung etc.

It's somewhat disappointing that there had been no accurate rendition of Chow's movie character Inspector Tequila; a shoot first & don't even bother to ask questions later bad-ass cop by any 1/6 manufacturers all these years.

Somehow, Armoury's release of 1/6 Fatt's lookalike SDU figure some years back still didn't manage to hit the mark of a movie accurate Tequila.

Hopefully with ZC World's recent preview of 'A Better Tomorrow' Mark Gor 1/6 figure in the works, we could look forward to future releases of Fatt in 'The Killer' or even Inspector Tequila.....

In the meantime, Loading Toys gas can Fatt lookalike h/s certainly came closest to nailing the Hard Boiled Tequila look. Too bad most of the parts from my kitbash are only close resemblances & not totally movie accurate. One can only hope for a proper 1/6 box release in time to come.

Parts:
H/s: Loading Toys
Body: BBI 3.5
Vest: DML
Shirt: HT
Pants: Hasbro
Boots: Heroic
Revolver: DML
MP5: Sideshow
Shotgun: ???(ebay)
Band Aid: own custom

FRANK MARTIN

The lead character in the Transporter series of movies. The first movie (directed by Cory Yuen, the best among the 3) which was released in 2002 also propelled it's lead actor to action movie stardom in Hollywood.

One of those bashes that's been done to death.... not to mention the JS headsculp that's seen so many releases: Loading Toys, Soldier Story, Brother's Production & even the upcoming TTL SEAL Rifleman.

Had mine done up early this year & sitting on the self till now. Headsculp was loose from Brother's Production, black suit was CRAP, from a company (IMO) that consistently over promises & over charges for their products. Apart from being ill fitting (can't use the usual G3.5 or T-Type) the material bunches up & doesn't fall in place proper. Even with a smaller body, seams crack & buttons pop during some poses....

PARTS:
HS: Brother's Production
Body: DML
Hands: HT (mod)
Suit/belt/shoes: ACI
M9: Playhouse

U.S. Navy SEAL - Pointman

A logical follow-up to my last post/bash.

One of the more memorable characters in TOTS almost in the same vein as SPR's Pvt. Jackson though he ain't got much lines in TOTS as opposed to Pepper's scripture quoting sniper in SPR.

Once again not an entirely movie accurate bash due to parts shortage & also not sure if the Pointman designation is correct. I'm guessing so from the shotgun he carries in the movie.

Parts utilizes an old DML rig & HT Truetype. M4 is a bash of TS, HT & VH parts, with the rest of the loadout being HT, TS, VH etc. in the mix.

All comments appreciated.

U.S. Navy SEAL - Team Leader

Unofficially, i'm calling this bash: "The guy who lost half his squad coz of the BIG Boobies".... that's jus plain crude & low (me i mean, for calling that....it's meant to be a joke, no offence) but i was kinda thinkin the whole plot about saving the tribal bloodline thingy was jus to give the movie a kind of higher purpose???

Anyhow, reason for the bash was again because i miss the boat on the TS release which i considered kinda high for a $180 price-point at that time. On hindsight FENG's excellent h/s could have well been worth the $$$.

And up till a few weeks ago this was one of my 'shameful post of unfinished project' as those in OSW would call it, started a few years ago, missing a suitable h/s & H-harness. The TS Navy SEAL Rifleman (woodland) accessory set would have been ideal to kick start this lost cause but the set had since been almost totally extinct.

It was sheer luck recently stumbling on a fellow compatriot's used parts for sale that i manage to cannibalize the H-harness from part of a vest release by TS or perhaps ACE. Other parts are a mish-mesh of DML, HT, BBI & TS. So the H-harness was modded, comms earpiece & knives are not movie accurate but considering even the TS release blundered on the lefty hostler, had 2 knives instead of 3 & even did not manage to get the M4 right.... i'm not too bothered with my amateur effort.

So that about wraps up the bashes on my 'to do list', this & Miller & Snake.... Kinda surreal, all 3 bashes in limbo all these years & completed in the space of a few months.... First a break (at least for a couple of days), then gonna start cracking on what to work-on next before the bashing-bug bites.

The SARGE

Decided to capitalise from the subject of my previous post for this latest bash. A rather simple & straight forward bash right down to hunting down the parts except....

Fact is i wasn't able to get hold of a Red Planet Toys h/s so that would be the real bummer. However a quick search of OSW & as opined by some members: BBI 'Lucus' being a close alternative & which i happen to have a spare.... that'll do. Only grouse is Lucus' h/s look rather lean as oppose to the film version so it'll have to be a case of Sarge before he piled on the KGs.

Parts are an ensemble of HT Truetype, DIDs, SS & DMLs. Of note is the DML tanker jacket courtesy of Dominic Chan, my thanks. Lucus h/s gets some extra thick makeup for some battle/weathered effect & his mid-section gets buffed up for some 'heavy duty' feel.

As usual.... not 100% film accurate but works for me.
