The SARGE

Decided to capitalise from the subject of my previous post for this latest bash. A rather simple & straight forward bash right down to hunting down the parts except....

Fact is i wasn't able to get hold of a Red Planet Toys h/s so that would be the real bummer. However a quick search of OSW & as opined by some members: BBI 'Lucus' being a close alternative & which i happen to have a spare.... that'll do. Only grouse is Lucus' h/s look rather lean as oppose to the film version so it'll have to be a case of Sarge before he piled on the KGs.

Parts are an ensemble of HT Truetype, DIDs, SS & DMLs. Of note is the DML tanker jacket courtesy of Dominic Chan, my thanks. Lucus h/s gets some extra thick makeup for some battle/weathered effect & his mid-section gets buffed up for some 'heavy duty' feel.

As usual.... not 100% film accurate but works for me.

Captain Miller - SPR

With the momentum after completing the previous MGS (Zombie) Snake bash, decided to follow it up with another of my 'to do list, for the longest time ever' bash (only 1 bash left from the list after this....relief!)

Excellent reference from one of the OSW Kitbash of the month winning entry provided the basis for the bash. It was quite a challenge sourcing for the various loose parts from the compass case, right down to the map case & ammo bag. Of course the key ingredient being the LBS h/s which is the crucial part, to this effect, special thanks to Mr. Dominic Chan (i truely admire your bashes).

Again utilizing my recycle HT Truetype body, balance of remaining parts are mainly DID, cept for the boots which i think is NLM, h/s touch up is by Yellowbox and the collar tabs are DIY-ed.

i luv it when all the parts come together.... perhaps still not 100% accurate but satisfactory non-the-less.

101st Airborne WWII

Seems like WWII theme is in a bit of a revival these days.....

Is it the bashes in SpecFigures4??? Or 1/6 manufacturers slugging it out with similar theme/timing WWII figures releases??? Or simply the fact that most had run out of ideas for modern military boxsets. Also shouldn't be any surprise that with HBO's telecast of the WWII miniseries: 'The Pacific' later this year, the next wave of 1/6 box releases by the aforesaid makers should be anybody's guess.

No matter what, here i am jumping on the WWII bandwagon. Essentially kitted out a Toys City accessories set with a DID h/s + body, DID helmet & DML M1 rifle..... some nice weathering should do this bash justice but i guess it's something for another day.
